helpful grocery lists made easy for you
A grocery haul when I was in Costa Rica. April 2021.
Since March 2020, I lost 25 pounds and let’s just say my grocery list has changed quite a bit since then. I didn’t go on any fad diet and I didn’t even focus on losing weight. What did I do? I started to become more aware of my eating habits.
I noticed that would get hungry, crave something, and then I would order it for takeout or buy it in package form. This cycle would happen weekly up until Covid happened. With restaurants shutting down it became difficult to get delivery so I had this inspiration to make the cuisine I wanted at home from scratch. I wanted to have a better idea of what was going into these meals whether that was chemicals or even the oils used. I ended up searching for healthier alternatives to swap the bad ingredients out with and I was pleasantly surprised with the options I was given. I was determined to learn and I wanted to make sure I knew and trusted what was going into my body.
First, I started with baked goods, and then I ventured off and made delicious meals I craved like Thai dishes and ethnic soups. I ended up loving this strategy so much I started to base and plan my next meals on the “cuisine” instead of the typical hero of my plate which was meat. This led me to explore and experiment outside of just animal-based proteins, like legumes, nuts, and seeds. I weaned off preservatives and slowly found fulfillment in a more vegetarian, plant-based diet but without setting any limitations on myself. This all has helped me be more consistent with not only my lifestyle but my weight as well.
These lists provide you with ingredients for cuisines that I not only love to crave but are extremely healthy and nourishing. I’ve built them so that you can do the same. These are for you to SCREENSHOT and bring with you to the supermarket so you don’t have to think so much when you get there. The store can be overwhelming but these lists help get you through.
Lastly, the majority of the ingredients support 90-95% of all recipes within that cuisine, too, which I find is pretty awesome. For example, for the Mediterranean list, you can make falafel, tzatziki, and a greek salad all with the ingredients provided.
Note: I didn't share quantity as the purpose is to share food staples on my grocery lists to help guide you at the store. Be sure to buy enough of the food items you need for each recipe.
